Bangor Rangers v Orangefield

2nd Round Border Cup - Clandeboye Park

Orangefield start with an unchanged team from Islandmagee last week hoping for a better result. On 5mins Chris Harvey is through on the keeper but strikes the side netting, an early chance missed. The 1st 15mins are evenly matched as both keepers make good saves. The home team make the break through on 20 mins with a great strike from 25yrds 1-0.

Orangefield press forward with some good play but missed chances from O'Neill and Harvey keeps the home team in front. Bangor well in the game now putting Orangefield under pressure and proudce a wonder save from Darlinton from close range to keep Orangefield in the game.

The visitors unable to keep possession for any length of time as Bangor work hard to break up play, nor are Orangefied

playing with any fluency because of some poor decision making in the final third. The home side break down Orangefield defence again to go 2-0 up on 35 mins. Another soft goal conceded, a worrying habit we need to put right quickly.

Half-time: 2-0

The second half was very like the 1st as Orangefield huffed and puffed but never really got into their stride as Bangor dominated most of the half. Second half changes Richie for Craig, Cunninham for Harvey and Dornan for Wilson. The visitors push forward in the last 15 mins as Bangor were happy to defend their lead. Dempster gets on the end of a cross to score and make it 2-1, takes his tally to 4 goals in 5 games. But unfortunatly its to little to late as Orangefield crash out of th Border cup.
